The Expedition is my take on a traditional puukko style knife. The puukko is a Scandinavian (Finnish) all purpose knife used for wood carving and processing as well as fishing and hunting. The design of the knife is over 2000 years old. Many owners would take pride in carving their puukko handle. While tribal style art is a little outside of my main style, I have always liked it and it felt right for this Expedition. The handle is completely hand carved with a hemp cord wrap around the finger choils. The sheath is my take on a traditional puukko sheath as well, it is made of leather and charred oak with brass hardware. The sheath is also fleece lined and has been lightly oiled to keep the knife in pristine condition while not in use.

The San-mai blade has a 52100 high carbon core with 416 stainless steel cladding. The handle is Canarywood which is a rare, exotic hardwood from Kauai, all fittings are brass. The blade length is 4 3/8” when a 4 5/8” handle length.
